Ten years shooting. Trained as a documentarian at the National Film and Television School, with a zoology degree behind that. The two sit together more comfortably than they sound. Both are mostly about watching closely and waiting.

Eight years as a lifeguard funded the early part of this and taught me to read water, which is where the underwater work comes from. I surf, I ski, and I spend most of my time in the places I photograph. I'm not visiting them.

I come from a family of Cornish pole vaulters, so sport and physical effort were never something I discovered. They are just where I'm from.

The work runs across documentary, sport, adventure and environmental stories, on land and in the water. Real moments in real conditions. When the weather turns is usually when it gets interesting.
